Condition

Executed on cream wove paper, not laid down and hinged to the mount at all four corners. The right edge is deckled and the upper, left, and lower edges are very slightly unevenly cut. There is a vertical crease running down the centre of the work and a further three creases running horizontally, from when the work was previously folded. There are two small repairs to the lower left corner and a small nick to the upper right corner. There are some further minor creases in places and some handling marks most of which are probably inherent to the artist's process. Otherwise, this work is in overall good condition. Colours: Overall fairly accurate in the printed catalogue though the sheet is slightly less pink in the original.

Catalogue Note

The present work was given by the artist to his friend Giuseppe Raimondi in Milan in 1917 as a token of good luck before he departed for the war. On his return Raimondi founded the Futurist journal La Raccolta. An original copy of an issue of La Raccolta accompanies this work.
