- A VERY RARE AND HIGHLY APPEALING GOLD, DIAMOND, RUBY, SAPPHIRE, ENAMEL AND OBSIDIAN MANTEL CLOCK CIRCA 1990
- height 41 cm
• with mechanical jewelled lever movement, mother-of-pearl dial, Roman numeral quarter hours set on black enamel background, diamond set bezel with applied gold and ruby five minute indexes, the circular dial, movement and case supported between realistically crafted gold bamboo, with green enamel leaves, on top of the textured green stone base are two wonderfully sculptured obsidian Pandas, one mother Panda seated and holding a bamboo, the other baby Panda looking towards its mother, the fur of both animals meticulously replicated throughout, blue sapphire set eyes, gold claws and pads to the mother Panda's feet • case and dial signed
Condition
A beautifully constructed clock with exquisite detailing of the mother and baby Panda - perfectly executed. A little discoloured but in some ways this is more realistic, some loss of enamel to the leaves, but visually it is no detraction to the clock. Dial is clean, and intact. Movement is working.
