Automatic movement running and regatta countdown chronograph function fully operational while cataloguing, the movement has not been tested for accuracy of time keeping and a service might be required at the buyer's expense. Dial looks nice and clean. Case and buckle with no visible signs of wearing. Overall appears in virtually unused condition. Back of the case numbered F91448 and No003/107.

Audemars Piguet launched the Royal Oak Offshore Team Alinghi Carbon in 2007 to commemorate the Swiss sailing team Alinghi’s new boat for the 32^nd America’s Cup, the special edition was the first wristwatch to feature a case made from forged carbon. It was released in 3 limited edition variations including the all-carbon (1300 examples), rose gold and carbon (600 examples) and platinum and carbon (107 examples). Forged carbon was developed for use in aeronautics and is comprised of loose microscopic carbon fibers secured together by a resin, when heated, compressed, then cooled to form a watch case the carbon strands distribute randomly making each case appear to have a similar soft, satin, marbled effect, although actually every one is unique in detail. Forged carbon is very light and one-third as dense at titanium but superior in strength.  The Audemars Piguet Team Alinghi Carbon was the last association the two famous Swiss names would have together. Offered in excellent visually unworn condition from a private collector, this platinum example, number 3 from the edition, is one of the most historically important editions of Royal Oak in recent years.
