Catalogue Note

With a Rolex presentation case.

Developed in conjunction with pilots from the (dissolved) aircraft company Pan-Am, the Rolex GMT Master was launched in 1954 in the form of Ref.6542, updated in 1960 to the Ref.1675 featuring protective crown guards, the model again received modified crown guards circa 1963 although the reference number remained the same. The GMT Master with bi-directional red/blue bezel was available with only minor variations to the dial and hands until replaced with Ref.16750 featuring an updated Cal.3075 movement circa 1979. The example offered, complete with factory box and original guarantee is fitted with a small triangle 24 hour hand and gilt print dial typical of the mid 1960’s examples.
