Description

  • A YELLOW GOLD ENAMEL AND PEARL-SET VERGE WATCH WITH CHATELAINECIRCA 1820
  • diameter 34 mm chatelaine length 150 mm
• gilt full plate verge movement, pierced and engraved balance bridge • gilt guilloché dial, white enamel cartouches, Roman numerals, outer track with minute divisions • case back decorated with a basket of flowers highlighted with pearls on a translucent blue enamel background over an engine-turned ground, both bezels set with split pearls • with a gold chatelaine composed of blue enamel plaques depicting cherubs, central plaque highlighted with pearls, attached seal and key

Condition

The movement is running at the time of cataloguing, however it would benefit from a service. Dial with slight scuffs but overall in good condition. The enamel with some scratches but overall in good condition. There is a pearl missing to the bezel. There is some slight damage to the blue enamel surrounding the central plaque on the chatelaine.
