Condition

Movement is in working condition while cataloguing, but it has not been tested for the accuracy of time keeping and a service might be required at the buyer's expense. Dial in very good condition, luminous not glooming anymore. Polished case in very good condition, tiny scratches overall the case due to normal wear, sapphire crystal with Cyclop lens. Overall in very good condition.

Catalogue Note

Since 1956, the Oyster Day-Date has been fitted with an aperture showing the days of the week in a choice of 26 different languages. Over the years, the model has been available with a variety of different dial designs, of which the present example is one of the rarest. The Day-Date models bear the official wording "Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified" indicating that the watches were submitted to the Official Swiss Chronometer Control and successfully passed 360 hours of rigorous testing.
