- A YELLOW GOLD QUARTER REPEATING PAIR CASED VERGE WATCHNO 5678 MADE IN 1768
- YELLOW GOLD
- diameter 48 mm
• full plate gilt movement, finely pierced and engraved balance cock, diamond endstone • signed and numbered dust cap • white enamel dial, Roman numerals, Arabic outer minute track, blued steel beetle and poker hands • plain inner case, engraved decoration to the outer case with glazed panel to the back containing woven hair • movement and dust cap signed Ellicott, London No. 5678, hallmarked London 1768
Condition
The movement is not running or repeating, fusee chain is detached. Plunger for the repeat mechanism does not depress. There is some movement in the balance wheel but it will not rotate. The dial with very slight chips to the edge but overall in good condition. Inner case with light scuffs. The outer case with some wear to the engraving. The thumb piece containing orange enamel which is chipped and scratched.
