Condition

The movement is running at the time of cataloguing, however it may benefit from a service in the near future. Silvered dial with a small scuff to the subsidiary dial and at 2 o'clock. Case with light scuffs throughout. Overall the watch is in good condition.

Catalogue Note

This fine and important chronometer watch is equipped with the precision Guillaume balance. Charles Édouard Guillaume (1861-1938) was a Swiss physicist who received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1920 for recognition of the service he had rendered to precision measurements by his discovery of anomalies in nickel steel alloys.
