Catalogue Note

Created in 1917, the original Cartier ‘Tank’ model was inspired by the design of tanks used by the allies during the First World War. The Tank family of watches were influenced by the Art Deco movement through the 1920s and 1930s, a period in which jump hour wristwatches also became popular. The present lot draws on this heritage, re-interpreting Art Deco elements and updating them to the contemporary age with a robust angular case and 24-hour dial display.
