circular, the lid inset with the miniature of a lady, French school, circa 1765, with powdered hair, wearing a white gown with lavender scarf, leaning on a balustrade, the polished ground with chevron-engraved borders, the base with central rosette, wood-lined, charge and discharge marks of J.J. Prévost, later French control marks

Condition

Miniature in excellent codnition; box with some scratches and very small dents on base and sides; wood lid lining stained and a little shrunk.
