Condition
Illustration is quite accurate.
As said in the catalogue the console has been regilded : gilding is now rubbed on the more exposed areas and there are a few minor edge chips.
Usual scratches and minor edge chips on the marble top, as expected.
Very elegant model in overall good condition.
Deep carving and fine design typical of Georges Jacob's manner, especially the console feet.

Catalogue Note
Les montants en console de notre lot sont caractéristiques de la production de ce célèbre menuisier. Ainsi retrouve-t-on nos montants sur une console estampillée par Georges Jacob et vendue par l'étude Aguttes à Neuilly sur Seine le 18 mai 2011, lot 178. Le motif de pomme de pin de l'entretoise est aussi emblématique de sa production. On la retrouve sur de nombreux modèles estampillés dont nous pouvons citer une console, vente Sotheby's Monaco, le 1er juillet 1995, lot 31. Cette dernière pourrait correspondre à l'une des consoles qui furent livrées par Jacob à Monsieur, comte de Provence en 1785 (H. Lefuel, op. cit.).
