The necklace composed of fancy links centered by cabochon emeralds, highlighted by pear-shaped rubies, together with a pair of matching earclips, total gross weight approximately 156 dwts; necklace length 31½ inches, signed Cazzaniga, Roma; detaches into two shorter necklaces measuring 17 and 14½ inches; the earclips unsigned; circa 1950s.
Condition
In good condition with some surface wear to the gold. NECKLACE: Bearing a nice weight. The cabochon emeralds are medium-light slightly bluish green, moderately to heavily included with surface reaching inclusions and abrasions at the facet junctions, not visible when worn. The rubies are medium-deep slightly violetish red and decorative in quality. Detaches into two shorter necklaces and fitted with two safety closures. Signed on both clasp tongues. EARCLIPS: The cabochon emeralds are medium-light slightly bluish green and heavily included. The rubies are medium-deep slightly pinkish violetish red and decorative in quality. Length approximately 2 1/8 inches.
