The swag-style necklace set with numerous oval and round cabochon garnets ranging in size from approximately 26.0 by 17.5 mm to 4.0 by 4.0 mm, gross weight approximately 43 dwts, length 15 inches, circa 1870.
Condition
In good condition, with some very minor discoloration to the gold commensurate with age. The large garnets are a deep slightly brownish orangy red, lightly included with some surface reaching inclusions, slightly more saturated than appears in the printed catalogue. The smaller stones are slightly more included and are a somewhat lighter, slightly purplish red.
