Description

  • platinum, sapphire, diamond
Centered by an oval-shaped sapphire weighing approximately 2.25 carats, flanked by 48 single-cut diamonds weighing approximately .45 carat and 16 French-cut sapphires, size 6½, circa 1925.

Condition

In very good condition. The sapphire is a richly saturated, medium deep very slightly purplish blue, very lightly included, with some significant abrasions to the facet junctions due to age. The French-cut sapphires are similar in color and clarity; they also have significant surface abrasions to the facet junctions, although these are not readily apparent when the ring is worn. The diamonds are near colorless and decorative in quality. The shank is very slightly thinned, but it remains stable. Accompanied by AGL report no. CS 49805 stating that the sapphire is of Cambodian origin, with no indications of heating.
