Pair of Platinum and Gem-Set Bangle-Bracelets, Van Cleef & Arpels, France

Comprising two bangle-bracelets, one set with numerous calibré-cut sapphires and the other set with numerous calibré-cut rubies, internal circumference 7½ inches each, both signed Van Cleef _ Arpels, the ruby bangle numbered 14359, both with French assay and partial maker's marks.

In good condition. The rubies range from medium red to medium purplish red, lightly to moderately included, most bear abrasions to the facet junctions and at least two stones have small surface reaching fractures. The sapphires are medium violetish blue and moderately included, most are slightly abraded and some of the stones have surface reaching inclusions. The two bangles aren't perfectly round, the stones at the side are slightly smaller than the ones on the tops and bottoms, creating a slight ovoid shape. The engravings on the side of the bangles are slightly rubbed, but this is consistent with the bangles' age.
