The flexible four-row necklace gathered at the sides with two detachable clips of sculpted scrollwork design set with numerous single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 2.30 carats and numerous round sapphires, internal circumference approximately 14 inches, the necklace and two clips signed Gübelin with maker's marks; together with earclips of similar design, set with single-cut diamonds weighing approximately .15 carat and numerous round sapphires, earclips signed Gübelin, with maker's marks, two sapphires missing, circa 1945; total gross weight approximately 89 dwts.
Condition
All pieces in good condition, with light surface scratching commensurate with wear. CLIPS: Slide off easily from the necklace. The 32 diamonds are approximately H-I color, VS-SI clarity. The 58 sapphires are well-matched for color, a deep slightly violetish blue, lightly included. Signed on the frames. NECKLACE: Flexible and bears a nice heft. EARCLIPS: The 50 sapphires are lighter than those in the clips; lightly included with minor chipping seen under magnification. The 30 diamonds are near-colorless and decorative in quality. Signed on the reverse. Both sapphires missing from the same earclip.
