The sculpted floral spray composed of one large flowerhead set with numerous old European and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 1.00 carat, further accented by 12 articulated cabochon emeralds and five small cabochon rubies; the smaller floral motif decorated with two carved emerald leaves, further set with one cabochon amethyst, five cabochon rubies, and seven round diamonds weighing approximately .50 carat; the two motifs detach for wear as separate clip-brooches, circa 1950.
Condition
In good condition with some light surface scratching to the gold. The diamonds are approximately G-H color, VS clarity. The cabochon emeralds are medium light slightly bluish green, heavily included with examples of surface reaching fractures and abrasions to the facet junctions. The carved emerald leaves are medium slightly bluish green, lightly included with no major visible inclusions. The cabochon rubies range from a medium-deep slightly pinkish red to purplish red, moderately included with some visible inclusions. The cabochon amethyst is medium purple, heavily included with examples of surface reaching inclusions and other fractures. Brooch is approximately 4 3/4 inches in length when joined.
