Composed of 47 carved yellow sapphire beads graduating in size from approximately 21.9 by 21.1 by 14.6 mm to 10.4 by 8.2 by 6.3 mm, completed by a clasp set with diamonds of brownish hue weighing approximately 4.50 carats, length 20½, signed MdV.
Condition
In good condition overall. The 47 carved sapphire beads range from light to medium light brownish yellow, heavily included with examples of surface reaching inclusions and abrasions at the facet junctions visible under magnification. Evidence of discoloration and color zoning throughout the sapphire beads. The colored diamonds present a brownish hue and are decorative in quality. Necklace opens by pushing and twisting the yellow sapphire bead that is adjacent to the colored diamond clasp. Please note that the diamonds have not been tested for natural origin of color.
