Literature
The present model, known as the "Portefaix" or "Porter" was designed by Jean-André Reiche in 1808.
Condition
Dial and rim later. Ormolu with surface dirt, rubbing, and oxidation. Figure is loose on base and requires securing. One vacant hole to base, possibly lacking element, and a similar vacant hole to loose hat of figure. Dial with some rubbing, small chips, and fine cracks. Figure is lacking device in hands.
