Condition
Pile ranges from near original, closely sheared 1/10th of an inch with charcoals oxidized to knotheads.
Scattered areas of foldwear in medallion, also lot to knotheads.
Warp ties visible in field.
5x1" reweave along right edge through guardborders.
A 5" repaired foldwear slit in lower right corner, visible on reverse.
Bands of wear along side edges where sides had curled under due to density of weave. Original purple silk selvages intact, with small losses along the right side. Both ends secured with binding stitch.
Extremely lustrous wool, vivid color, flexible handle, good overall condition.
