Description
- wool pile
- approximately 201 by 128cm; 6ft. 7in., 4ft. 2in, the other 198 by 130cm; 6ft. 6in., 4ft. 3in.
Provenance
One purchased Sotheby's London, 17th July 1977, the other from Perez, 3rd December 1968.
Condition
Both have reduced ends, no fringes, overlocked ends. There are minor sections of side cords on both missing. There are different in colour when together. Lovely drawing and design.
One (201 by 128cm): 2mm pile and generally down to knot-bars in areas, up the centre and along the ends. Half way up the right side there is an area of pile down to foundation in blue ground. There are horizontal repairs (9cm wide) in top left and right corners, across the sides. There are small splits, 1.5cm, 3cm and 2cm. along one end, from left to right. There is a 3.5cm. split on edge right side.
Other (198 by 130cm): 2mm pile down to knot-bars in areas. Small 1cm hole lower corner of lower right quadrant. Old moth damage in area top of lower left quadrant. There is a 7.5cm. vertical split in centre of one end.
