Condition
Laid down. Then hinged on all sides to a modern mount. Stain bottom center. Wear and some losses top right corner. Small hole left edge at level of knee of st. and a crease or repaired tear just above that. Stain by St Francis' left sleeve. Otherwise in good condition.

Catalogue Note
This is characteristic of Luini in the handling of the pen and ink and in the morphology of the figures. The presence of St. Ambrose suggests a Milanese commission.
