Condition

Laid down and hinged in few places on the new mount. A little loss to the right on the cloud near the edge. Some rubbing and surface dirt especially on the right edge. Few small creases to the right. Some oxidization. Overall in quite good condition.

Catalogue Note

In his entry on this drawing in the catalogue of the Carracci exhibition that he curated in 1961, Ralph Holland noted that Sir Denis Mahon had suggested elements of stylistic similarity with the work of Sisto Badalocchio.  We are very grateful to Alastair Laing for clarifying the earlier provenance of this drawing.
