Catalogue Note
The rare first edition, with fine views by Kip. "The greater part of the impression of this work was destroyed by a fire, Jan. 30, 1712-13, in the house of Mr. Boyer, Printer, in White Fryars; and some of the copies which were rescued from the flames still retain the indelible marks. A part likewise of the second edition met with a similar fate" (Upcott, 1:246).
