Catalogue Note

First complete edition of Kinnamos's history, published as part of the monumental Corpus byzantinae historiae, which was compiled at the behest of Louis XIV. It includes the first printed description of Hagia Sophia, written by Paul the Silentiary in the sixth century, on the occasion of the second dedication of the church.
