Small oblong folio (250 x 310mm.), 140 gelatin silver prints (nearly all 64 x 87mm., or the reverse, a few larger) mounted on 36 card mounts, and 17 mounted postcards (mainly real photographs), the photographs captioned in ink on the mount, the mounts hole-punched and bound with ring binders, lacking covers, some mounts detached, slight age-wear to mounts, a few gaps where photographs have been removed

Catalogue Note

A large collection of photographs of Aden in the early 1930s, mostly taken by a British soldier, showing topographical views, groups of soldiers, naval ships and submarines and scenes of everyday life. In addition a series of three photographs (together with 3 enlargements) shows Mahatma Gandhi's visit to Aden in September 1931, while en route to London.
