Catalogue Note

An important work in a fine binding by Simier, binder to Charles X.

Reprinted many times and in various forms, Barthélémy's work was of great importance in encouraging French neo-classicism and philhellenic sentiment. This is one of two octavo editions printed in 1821; the other was published by Gueffier jeune.
