Natural pearl and diamond brooch, late 19th century

Designed as bar brooch of five graduated natural freshwater pearls measuring from approximately 7.2 to 11.0mm, terminating with box-collet rose diamonds.

Accompanied by The Gem & Pearl Laboratory report no. 08326, stating that the pearls were found to be natural, freshwater. Stamped with partial assay mark to pin. Pearls of white body colour with light rosé overtones, dull to medium lustre, a few slightly misshapen, small pits and discolouration to nacre. Diamonds bright and lively. Pin secure. Abrassions to metal consistent with age and wear.
