Ruby, natural pearl, cultured pearl and diamond brooch, mid 19th century

Centring on a cabochon ruby framed with three natural pearls and one later cultured pearl, cushion-shaped and rose diamonds, brooch fitting detachable.

Accompanied by The Gem & Pearl Laboratory report no. 08849 stating that the pearls were found to be natural, saltwater. Ruby opaque dark pinkish purple, with some nicks to surface. Pearls button shaped, measuring approximately 6mm, cream body colour with grey and rosé overtones, one pearl cultured. Estimated total diamond weight approximately 1.50 - 2.50 carats, estimated colour and clarity J-L and Si on average. Signs of solder marks to pin fittings. Some abrasions and tarnish to metal consistent with age and wear. In good condition.
