A Meissen spirit-barrel on stand circa 1775

Description

modelled with Bacchus seated atop a barrel resting on a tripod stand, each scrolled foot supporting a seated putto, crossed swords and star mark in underglaze-blue. 

Condition

There is some occasional minor chips to the applied vines. Bacchus's right arm has been off and restored back. His both feet are also restored. The barrel is affixed to its stand with some adhesive material. It is fitted with a later gilt-metal stopper and spigot. The figure with the coffee grinder: the end of her right foot is restored and the foot of the stand beneath her is restored.
