Condition

First armchair with minor cracks to cresting rail at join with tops of stiles; the right armrest with minor age crack adjoin with armrest support; repaired crack two front left corner of apron above the front left leg; second armchair; with old repaired break to right stile above join with right armrest; left handhold with two old rubbed chips; front left leg with replaced left knee bracket; chair X with old repaired break to the center of the splat; shoe possibly replaced; back right bracket re-glued; gadrooned apron possible replaced; front right leg with large scuffs and chips to leaf carving of right side bracket; front left foot with large chip to one claw; chair XII with old repaired break to base of left stile; some minor old worm damage to back seat rail; front left corner of apron with repaired cracks and with subsequent large chip; tops of front legs with scuffs and chips to leaf carving; back right foot spliced; chair IX with old repaired break with later splice to top of right stile old repaired break to base of left stile with splice to back; back seat rail replaced; back left leg probably replaced; possibly associated to the set; the front legs with chips and wear to the leaf carving and with large chips and losses to claws; chair II possibly [made at a later date though does not appear to have been made in the twentieth century] associated; back feet tipped; back left bracket replaced; some minor worm damage to back rail; old repaired break to top of right stile with join at cresting rail; repaired break to base of left stile at join with seat rail; chair I with old repaired break to center of splat; old worn chips to fluted stiles; the shoe possibly replaced; back seat rail with minor worm damage; back feet tipped; chair IIII stamped NC beneath a fleur-de-lis to the back rail; some minor worm damage to back rail; some old chips and scuffs to carving of front legs and brackets; chair III stamped NC beneath a fleur-de-lis to the back rail; old repaired break to center of cresting rail above the splat; the splat with some old repair breaks; old repaired break to cresting rail at join with right stile to the back edge; some chips and wear to gadrooning; chair VIII stamped NC beneath a fleur-de-lis to the back rail; some glued cracks to the base of the right stile at join with seat rail; the front right leg with a replaced side knee bracket some old worm damage to the back rail with minor losses; gadrooned apron replaced; chair V stamped NC beneath a fleur-de-lis to the back rail; replaced leaf tip to front bracket of front right leg some chips and scuffs to foliate carving of front legs and brackets; some old worm damage to back rail; chair XI stamped NC beneath a fleur-de-lis to the back rail; some old worm damage to back rail; loss to leaf tip of front bracket of front left leg; gadrooned apron replaced; chair VII stamped NC beneath a fleur-de-lis to the back rail; large loss to leaf tip of side bracket to front right leg some old worm damage to back rail; some scuffs and wear and chips to leaf carving of front legs and brackets; chair VI with old repaired breaks to stop of stiles at joins with cresting rail; back feet spliced; side bracket to front right leg replaced; gadrooned apron replaced; minor worm damage to back rail; first twentieth century copy with sun bleaching to back; large chips and scuffs to front right leg; second twentieth century copy with sun bleaching to back and some scuffs and scratches
