seated in dhyanasana on a rectangular plinth draped with a flower-decorated cloth, the hands in dhyanamudra, dressed in a scarf and dhoti and adorned with jewelry, the face with pensive expression beneath hair pulled up into an elaborate coiffure behind a five-leafed tiara, the figure framed by a flaming mandorla, the incised mark in a horizontal line at the front of the base

Acquired circa 1985, Pennsylvania.

Condition

Gilt loss and surface wear, with traces of lacquer on the surface. Loss to attribute held in hands. Small areas of corrosion to back of plinth. The mandorla sits slightly askew.
