cast seated in dhyanasana with right hand in vitarkamudra, and left holding a cup, dressed in loose, flowing robes open at the chest to reveal elaborate jewelry, the borders of the robes chased with lotus scrolls, the face with heavy lidded downcast eyes, framed by knotted plaits, elongated earlobes and the elaborate openwork tiara centered by a figure of Amitabha Buddha, the soles of the feet incised with diagrams of dharmachakra

Condition

There are small breaks and losses to the tiara and the tips of the tresses. There is a repair to the little finger on the right hand and the index finger of left hand. There are patches, a casting flaw and dents to the back of the figure. The front hem of the robe has a patch and some cracks. There are a number of small holes around the edge of the base, some which have been filled with pins. There is wear consistent with age throughout, with wear and abrasion to the gilt, and some nicks along the edges.
