standing foursquare atop a rectangular plinth, the animal's head rearing up and back, mouth agape, its two lopsided humps appearing from holes in a cream and green-glazed oval, fringed saddlecloth, the body covered overall with a rich amber glaze

Provenance

Collection of Reverend Theodore Pitcairn (1893-1973), Philadelphia, and thence by descent.

Condition

All four legs each with a clean break restored, the plinth with restored breaks and the glaze is worn particularly on the upper section of the animal along with some areas of glaze loss.
