formed from a single piece of root, or more likely trunk of the tree, of irregular cylindrical form, the densely knotted, ridged and lively gnarled surface evocative of lyrical movement and waterfalls and cresting waves, resting on a flat base formed from a fitted plug of the same wood

There are minor nicks as well as some very slight splitting along the rim.
