Description
- metal and enamel
brightly enamelled overall with butterflies and other insects in flight amongst leafy branches issuing large floral blooms including peony, morning glory and camellia, interspersed with fruiting sprays of the sanduo, all reserved on a an opaque white ground, divided by ruyi-shaped lappets and floral scrolls, the cover and the burner similarly decorated
Condition
There is two areas of restoration to the lower side of the kettle (one to each side) that covers quite a large area of the piece (aprox 15cm by 6cm and 12cm by 5cm). There is also a small are of restoration to the cover just below the knop (1cm by 1cm). There is also a 4cm by 5mm area of restoration to the burner. There is cracking to the enamel to the cover, sides and base and some scratches to the enamel on the sides.
