the elongated boulder carved in relief to the front face depicting a figure carrying a double-gourd on his back, looking up towards Shoulao and a deer on a rocky ledge below a pavilion, all framed by gnarled pine and wutong trees, the reverse similarly decorated with a pair of cranes amongst gnarled pine and wutong trees, the stone of a pale celadon tone with traces of reddish brown skin, wood stand

Collection of Mrs W. Normad, London, England, acquired prior to 1967.
Condition
The mountain is in reasonable condition. There are some areas of loss to the front face, including the leaves of the tree to the lower left (one measuring 0.4x0.5cm near the top and another 0.3x0.1cm near the bottom right), the wutong tree to the lower right, and a 0.4x0.3cm area to the pine tree at the top. There are similar losses to the reverse, including a 0.6x0.3cm area to the rock face on the top left, and a possible loss next to the bottom pine tree. There is also general minor nibbling to the extremities. The stone is of a slightly greener tone compared to the catalogue illustration.
