the cylindrical body rising from three short cabriole legs to a flat incurved rim, moulded to the exterior with a band of the Eight Trigrams between raised borders, covered in a sea-green glaze, the silver cover pierced with floral blossoms including peony, chrysanthemum and prunus, Japanese wood box, with Koyama Fujio label.

Condition

The censer is in good condition with the exception of a 1mm., rim chip, a 10cm., long firing line around the underside of the base, a 1.5cm., hairline firing line to the base of the foot and minor glaze firing imperfections including iron-spots and glaze pin holes.
