Description

  • porcelain
the cylindrical body rising from a short spreading foot to a short waisted neck, brightly enamelled around the exterior with a pair of long-tailed birds perched on a tree branch issuing from flowers and rockwork, all reserved on a grisaille cloud and turquoise ground with bats and insects in flight, the base with the iron-red seal mark reserved in a white rectangle against a turquoise ground

Condition

The vase is in good condition with the exception of a circa 5cm., wide band of over-painting to the neck (there does not appear to be any loss), overpainting to approximately a third of the footring on the interior and exterior and light glaze scratches.
