Description
- Cloisonne enamel, gilt copper
each with a compressed globular body supported on a stepped foot, tapering to a tall waisted neck with lipped rim, the exterior brightly decorated with a bat flying amongst a flowering tree bearing nine peaches, all beside a lingzhi sprig issuing from rockwork, reserved on a trellis diaper ground below a ruyi band at the rim, the foot encircled by four bats amidst turbulent cresting waves
Condition
The vases are in good condition with the exception of a 2cm., diam., depression to the side of one body with associated 8 x 4mm., loss to the enamel, two smaller depressions of circa 6mm., diam., with associated re-touching of enamels to the same vase, and loss to the gilded decoration at the rims of both.
