Description
- Cloisonne enamel, gilt copper
the rectangular body rising from a stepped plinth supported on four gilt-bronze animal mask feet to a waisted neck, set with a central dragon medallion to the long side at the front, the exterior decorated with leafy sprigs of stylised hibiscus divided by archaistic scrolls and keyfret bands, the corners with gilt-bronze flanges in the form of leafy floral sprays on the side and foliate projections atop, the interior set with a separate compartment with two rings
Condition
The jardinière is in good condition with the exception of a 7mm., diam., hole drilled to the base at the rear, minor pitting to the enamels and light rubbing to the gilded decoration.
