the ovoid body rising from a straight foot to a tall waisted neck gently flaring at the rim, brightly painted with a fan-shaped cartouche enclosing a scholar pointing at the sun and looking back at two attendants in a landscape, the reverse with detached fruiting and flowering branches, all below a floral scroll band, the neck with leafing and flowering lotus below foliate sprays, mounted with a silver rim at the mouth

Condition

The porcelain beneath the metal mount not inspected, however a large rim chip, measuring approximately 30mm across visible under the mount. Surface scratching and wear to the neck and body, a 20mm firing crack to base
