- jade and wood stand
carved in the form of three boys gathered around a large pomegranate, one holding a ruyi sceptre and kneeling beside a standing boy, another one holding the pomegranate on the other side, the fruit hollowed to form a vase and carved with five flying bats to the exterior, all supported on a rocky ledge, the stone of an even pale celadon tone, wood stand
Condition
The vase is in very good condition with the exception of minor nibbling along the extremities, short chisel marks (approx. 0.2cm) near the rim of the pomegranate and the base, and natural veining of the stone including one which runs from the base up the pomegranate along the wing of one bat (approx. 5cm). The stone is of a more celadon tone compared to the catalogue illustration.
