carved recumbent with its crowned head facing forwards, its wings and long tail incised with feathers, the stone of a pale yellow tone with russet veins

Japanese Private Collection.
Condition
The jade phoenix is in very good condition with the exception of a russet-brown vein running across the tail of the bird. The stone is of a slightly darker yellow tone compared to the catalogue illustration.
