of rectangular form with four protruding rounded corners, the cover carved with radiating geometric scrolls framed by stylised strapwork, the olive-green stone mottled with black, all supported on a reticulated grey jade stand

Provenance

Purchased in France, 1974.

Condition

The box is in excellent condition with the exception of minor nibbling along the extremities. The grey jade stand has small nicks (largest approx. 0.3cm) along the edges of the floral petals, and extremities of the foliate scrolls at the aproned foot. There are some minor natural nicks to the stone. The stone is of a slightly darker olive-green tone compared to the catalogue illustration.
