Description
- Ink and colour on silk
ink and colour on a woven silk brocade decorated with ruyi-cloud patterns, inscribed in Chinese and Manchu, dated to the eighth year of Daoguang period (corresponding to 1828), accompanied by imperial seals, mounted as a handscroll
Condition
The edict is in fair condition, there are extensive tear and losses throughout the surface, including the areas around the rim. The Chinese writing and seals near the end of the edict have faded considerably. There are fraying and minor loss to the silk ground and water marks to the reverse.
