carved recumbent with its legs tucked underneath its body and bushy tail curled behind, the head with large floppy ears and sharp eyes, the stone of an even white tone

Provenance

Purchased in France, 1984.

Condition

The carving is in good condition with the exception of a small nick (0.1cm) to the back spine of the dog, and another possible minute nick to the corner of its right eye. The stone is of an even white tone with traces of milky-white and faint-russet inclusions.
