Description

of slender form with a waisted lower body sweeping up to high shoulders and a short slightly waisted neck, freely painted around the sides in inky tones of cobalt with alternating foliate sprigs of peach and pomegranate, the ripening fruits arranged in clusters of three on each branch and a fourth attendant fruit at the tip of the branch, their skin detailed with simulated 'heaping and piling', all set between double-line borders, the foot encircled with upright leaves and the neck collared with petal panels, the base left unglazed except for a glazed recessed medallion in the centre

Condition

There are a few flakes around the foot, some with old touch up. There is a short hairline crack to the footring, otherwise the vase is in good condition.
