Description

the large fish modelled with raised mouth and puckered lips grasping a stem of lotus, the body outlined by a tall serrated dorsal fin, a lobed serrated tail and a finely incised ventral spine, entangled among the long undulating stems and leaves, a large lotus blossom nestled against its tail and a furled attendant lotus pad placed under its gills, the transclucent stone of an even greenish-white colour with a smooth patina, carved wood stand

Condition

There is a tiny bruise to the carp's lower lip, but otherwise the carving is in quite good overall condition.
