Description

well potted with deep rounded sides supported on a short narrow foot, vividly painted on the exterior in shaded enamels against a ruby-red ground with four multi-coloured lotus borne on interlocking meandering foliate stems, alternating with smaller green and blue-petalled blooms springing from ruyi heads, the interior and the base glazed white, the latter inscribed with a four-character hall mark within double circles in underglaze blue

Sotheby's Hong Kong, 11th April 2008, lot 2920 (one of a pair).

Condition

The bowl is overall in very good condition. There is an original body line on the unglazed footring.
